Since joining Budget Vets as a general assistant to the director just 18 months ago, Rhiannon Jones has rapidly risen through the ranks and has now been promoted to Branch Manager of their Risca surgery.

Prior to joining Budget Vets, Rhiannon a Tourism Management graduate spent five years working for an international environmental agency before making the decision to follow her heart and make a career change to enter the pet care industry.

Passionate about pet care from an early age, Rhiannon has a long-time love for animals and is a keen advocate of animal welfare. In her new role, Rhiannon will be able to combine this with her commercial acumen to manage the growth of the Risca branch whilst maintain Budget Vet’s high standards.

Lianne Fieldhouse, Practice Manager at the veterinary practice that now has seven branches across South Wales said, “Rhiannon made an immediate impression on our team. Since day one, Ree has made a positive contribution to the business. Her passion for animal welfare shines and perfectly fits the ethos of the company. Her vast commercial experience combined with her love of animals has made her a very effective manager. She is highly respected by the medical and admin teams as well as our customers.”

Whilst working for Budget Vets, Rhiannon has also adopted rabbits brought in by pet owners unable to care for them. Peanut, a rabbit with dental problems is now enjoying a new lease of life living at home with Rhiannon after she intervened and paid for the required treatment herself.

Commenting on her new role, Rhiannon said, “I love the challenge of working at Budget Vets. Each day presents different challenges and solutions so we’re always on our toes. I love seeing our talented team of vets and assistants help to make peoples pets happy and healthy again. I’m so happy to be part of a team that does this. I’m looking forward to getting stuck into my new role, and getting to know Risca’s pet owners and caring for their pets!”

Since opening in 2010, Budget Vets has expanded into seven branches which are all passionate about providing veterinary care at a fair and reasonable price to all animals, at all times, regardless of their owner’s income, background or circumstances.
